ABOUT
Engineering Accountabilities is a Professional Engineering Consultancy based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Our practicing philosophy is based on Professionalism, Integrity and Knowledge. We are here to provide the support you need whenever you need it.
As a Chartered Professional and RPEQ Mechanical Engineer I am constantly looking for better ways to provide our valuable clients with better service. New challenges face us every day by way of changing social values and environmental pressures. The new black appears to be frugality, which may only be fully realised by placing sustainability at the core of all of our designs and solutions. This concept contains both an ethical and intellectual component, which in the right mix will provide a balanced and desirable outcome for you and, as a consequence, for us. If sustainability lies at the core of frugality, then surely safety lies at the core of sustainability. Nothing is more important than safety, for us, our clients, and their clients.
We face many challenges ahead such as the progressive integration of International Standards into Australian Standards. We no longer live in an isolationist society, and thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT), will likely see the level of interaction between us, our clients, and their assets increase as the boundaries between us become more blurred. We are embracing new technologies in our private lives with the mass consumption of smart phones. This is reflected in the commercial world with the rollout of more sophisticated conditioning monitoring equipment, and live streaming which gives engineers and technicians access to current information.
There is now also an opportunity for an automated assessment of data 24 hours / day which can flag potential serious errors or threats for immediate human intervention without having to have continuous human input. This is changing the way we receive information and the kind of information received. This is especially true for field equipment, some of which now calls home on a regular basis to update the status of all monitored systems and which can lead to a predictive capability not previously available.
Engineering Accountabilities is excited to be a part of this environment, and seeks to further understand and promote the opportunities that are available at the concept, design, and maintenance stages of equipment management.
